Ultimate Rocketmen

First seen in Ultimates 2 Annual #1 these oversize combat rigs, designed to produce an army of Iron Men, were built from—customized actually—from some of the early Iron Man designs SHIELD convinced Tony Stark to part with. The Ultimate Rocketmen were part of Phase 2 of the Super Soldier Program: the Reserves.

Much larger than the standard Ultimate Iron Man Armor, the Rocketmen suits aren’t a suit of armor per se. They are actually exo-armor units; something more piloted than worn. While not leading-edge tech, they get the job done. While not super sophisticated, they are still walking, flying, one-man WMD suits.

The men climb into them and are then encased within it (the suit). Inside, surrounded by the usual Iron Man touches, all visuals are fed by optical sensors. The on-board computer system is paired with a communications system.

The arm units are large Waldos (massive grasping five-fingered hands), which act as extensions of the wearer’s arms. Huge leg extensions provide all-terrain mobility while also housing jests for flights. The Rocketmen have an internal power supply that allows for a world-traveling range.

The suits feature four small spotlights are on the upper chest.

Armaments: repulsors; double-barreled cannons on each arm; vario-chestbeam.
