The Man Before the Iron Man Prometheum Armor, Model XX, Mark I Iron Man, Volume II, issue #1, gave us a look at two mighty armors from Tony Stark. one featuring a red and silver color scheme, another in red and gold. The red and silver model, Prometheum Armor, Model XX, Mark I was the first suit to come out of Project: Prometheus Rising. Worn by Connor "Rebel" O'Reilly, the suit blew up during a what was a first thought to be a routine test flight. The suit was overcome by unknown electro-magnetic surges that were accompanied by power spikes. Although the power core had failsafe dampers, the armor exploded after all the systems triggered at once. (Only later would Tony learn that Rebel had taken the suit out before the test to battle Titanium Man; throttled by the T-Man, the suit was damaged and not combat-test ready.) Cosmetically, it varied slightly from the suit worn by Tony Stark, having not only a different color scheme, but a different mask. Furthermore, it lacked a recharging module on the chest. Known capabilities: Sensors; radio communications; multi-scanning tractor beams (capable of controlling two objects at once). (It can be assumed that the Mark II contains all of the above features as well.) Special feature on this suit: The armor could also be turned off by remote control. |
