First seen in Ultimates 2, #11, the Pre-Ultimates Armor, Model 1.0, predates the armor seen in Ultimates 1. Tony Stark was forced to dust off this old model when New York was taken over by the Axis of Evil and he couldn’t get to his current suit at the Triskellion (Ultimates HQ). Fortunately, IM only needed it for a brief commute to his space station. The Pre-Ultimate Armor can easily be recognized as the precursor to Ultimate Armors 2.0 and 3.0—although it looks more like a traditional Iron Man armor with more red and gold than later Ultimate armors. Another key difference was the more primitive eye configuration on the mask. |
Tony described wearing it as “a hell of a kick” compared with his recent suits—meaning it’s not as comfortable—but added that it still flies “like a dream.” He also mentioned that it smelled like the first time he wore it to cross the Atlantic.
Known computer capabilities include a navigation system.
As mentioned the suit is space worthy.
