IRON BOY HOLO ARMOR

The Hallowed Holo-Armor

...his duds in IRON MAN #329.

Iron Boy Holo-Armor, Model XXI, Mark I, was slimmer than Model XVIII, representing a return to the more traditional style. What was not traditional about this armor was the truly revolutionary construction: Holo-Armor.

Tony still wore the chestplate under his clothes in its depolarized state, but the device remained on-line. By triggering his ankle and wrist housings, the gauntlet and boot sections were released into place. At the same time, holoprojectors within the armor ionized between them, creating a solid light force-field that's was good as gold, gold armor. The result: a red and gold suit of iron toughness and servo-powered super-strength.

Stark dropped the recessed, circular shield and repulsor ports, but they reappeared in later issues on his gloves (as part of a weapons upgrade no doubt).

The redesign included a center chestbeam (missing on the last version), "squarer" gauntlets, less bulky arm sections and the addition of boot cuffs. The helmet, which Tony kept in his bag, pulled on easy and locked down, securing helmet integrity. As on previous models the helmet contained oxygen filtration systems and optional opticals. The chestpiece included a heart pump and a prismatic mirror. A built-in cold generator could drop temps to absolute zero, creating a sustained barometric field of air at -273 degrees Celsius.

Armaments: Obligatory Repulsors; Chestbeam (powered by plasma relays); gauntlets fire wide-range of electrical arcs and could release a magnetic spectrum array along with other defensive arrays.

Special Feature on this suit: Teen Tony created vibranium psi-shields, a headgear device capable of thwarting Onslaught's mental reach.
