Stark House

The Not So Humble Abodes of Tony Stark

Like any billionaire playboy, Tony Stark has had his share of swinging bachelor pads. He grew up in the Stark Mansion on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan (which he later donated to the Avengers), had the run of a South Hampton country estate, Stark House, and later lived in a townhouse on the Upper East Side of the isle of Manhattan (on East 86th Street to be exact). He also had a string of penthouses: one on the East side of Manhattan, one at Stark International in Long Island, and still another atop the Hawthorne Building on New York's Upper East Side (by now a favorite location for the playboy-billionaire). At one point, Tony had five posh homes in New York at one time—one of the apartments was actually an entire floor in the Trump Tower. (Tony was later kicked out of each one as Obidiah Stane took away his life and fortune.)

When he went out to California, Stark set up shop in a house in the hills above L.A., complete with basement lab and secret file storage area. He then built a luxurious and high-tech penthouse on the top floors of the Stark Enterprises Administration building.

To get away from it all, Tony Stark had a secret cabin retreat located in the Adirondack Mountains and a Caribbean Island all to himself, Villa Mi Casa. He also owns a summer house, an estate really, in upstate New York, near Oneida. Although he lost it when Stane stole his fortune, it was one of the first homes he regained. The Oneida house is notable because it was built to withstand a nuclear attack, complete with three underground levels.

Stark would soon build a much nicer home away from the office. Located down the Pacific Coast Highway, his cliffside home, Retreat, would be a palatial getaway with a full service lab for his tinkering and more. (Even after building Retreat, Tony kept the modest beach house he had near L.A.)

At an undetermined time, Stark built an arctic bunker near the top of the world.

Stark House (West), a so-called "Smart House," located on Evergreen Island in Seattle, WA, was one of the genius inventor's favorite places to stay in the late Nineties.

After returning from his pocket-universe trip to the Heroes Reborn world, Stark out-bid an oil billionaire for Stark Tower. It was the perfect space for work and pleasure, so Tony made it the home of his firm, Stark Solutions.

Stark recently purchased a nice estate in Alexandria, VA, just outside D.C. It provided him just a short commute to his job at the Pentagon.

Recently, Tony Stark had been living mainly in his NYC penthouse, high atop Stark Tower (II), home of the New Avengers. Sadly, Stark Tower (II) was destroyed in a major Hulk-IM rumble.
