Arctic Armor

Arctic Armor

Built for the harsh, cold temperatures of the frozen arctic, the Arctic Armor made its only appearance in IRON MAN #318. Blue and white, to blend into the environment of the frozen tundra, the armor is bigger and bulkier than its contemporary suit, the Modular Armor, it takes its design cues from previous armors. Heavier, over-sized boots bring to mind the classic bulky red and gold armor, while the backpack brings to mind the Silver Centurion Armor.

The armor was designed to make Iron Man comfortable and functional in the harsh conditions of subzero environs. All weapons and systems have been bulked up and toughened. The armor also features improved insulation, and the HVAC system was upgraded to keep Tony nice and toasty inside, despite blizzard conditions outside.

Weapons-wise, the Arctic Armor features large blasters on bulked-up gauntlets and a six-sided chestbeam--both designed for the cold climate.
